This system sends 30 percent of the power to the front during normal circumstances, but the liquid state can see a 50/50 split when needed.
Peak GS 450h is the hybrid powertrain efficiency. A detuned version of the 3.5-liter V6 works with a generator and a 240-cell nickel metal hydride batteries to send a total of 338 horsepower to the rear wheels through a CVT. Even with the addition of 400-pound mass of the hybrid system, the GS 450h is actually slightly faster than the less powerful Lexus GS 350 and The GS 450h is rated at 29 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway.
